Unfortunately only half my Nippy(special)ATR 860 appears and that is a rather young me just behind the spare wheel. The three cars formed a team named "Rivals United". The PA Belongs to my brother in law and is still going strong, and the PB to a friend of years ago.The track (only a mile from my home) is now closed to motor vehicles. A great shame, as it's now far more difficult with huge ruts before the Monsal Dale station bridge and, after that all the way to the top, a very rough section with a loose, rock-strewn surface. 50 years ago it was an easy climb in a Ruby..... The buildings are all now des-res and holiday cottages.
It must have been a bit wet at some stage because I am in my water-proof top and yellow water-proof trousers (sailing gear!). Sorry but can't remember exactly which year but in the 1970s (I am now 75). A photo on Google Earth shows what that spot looks like today.
