Intriguing. Especially the lack of goggles even when pouring molten metal. Many of the machine tools would have been made in UK.
What comparable is made today? Little wonder girls married early. Some of those repetitive jobs would drive you nuts. I recall when cash pay was phased out at work. Some blokes were very concerned that their wives would now learn their true wage.
I wonder what would have happened if a discerning worker turned up in a Ford or Morris? The sensible practical upright bicycle with mudguards very much in evidence.
