Not a problem fitting a 1 1/8" CW & P set into a 31/32 banjo axle with the later style  roller bearing. But because the roller bearing has a different depth to the ball race used in the early axle you need to use the spacer for a roller bearing pinion. When I've done this job on early axles, I've also drilled the banjo and fitted a peg (as per the later axle) to stop the roller race outer track moving out  towards the crownwheel.
