JonE - perhaps you need to go to SpecSavers? You or others may not know but Austin offered bolt-on extensions (as I'm not at home to check I'm guessing late 1926) that were parallel to each other, not following the chassis-rail angle. They said they were able to be fitted to all existing chassis with no extensions, but in actual fact they were a problem with the earlier chassis design where the rails were lower in height. This meant the extensions were jacking the floor up above its usual mounting points. Mainly mention this in case anyone wishes to make duplicate extensions - I can supply sketches and measurements if they contact me on ausevenoz@gmail,com Cheers, Bill in Oz
