I’m not qualified to cast judgement on the car, but the sale title, “1936 Austin Prototype Racer – 1 of a Kind Race Car – Full documentation & History”, is patently misleading.
“The detailed history of this car is as intoxicating as the little racer itself.” As Dave points out, not only is the vendor coy about showing the engine, but equally coy about the car’s implied racing history. "Essentially priceless", it is not.
What a pity that all the breathless puff in the ad, casts doubt on an otherwise interesting little car.
