Still coughing and sneezing but at least I’m
moving about, soon to get rid of this head cold.
Ruairidh provided some spare door catch castings
That he had a week or two ago, so decided today to
Clean up the castings , using a Dremel and some
Bands of fine emery cloth. Managed to clean up
One catch today. One to do.
Also looked out some steel bar and rod to
make the sliding bolt, these still to be drilled
and the bolt milled back to 8mm. Next thing to do,
mark up for apertures and countersunk screws holes.
Looks like I’ll have some careful drilling and filing
to do to knit all these components together and
then fit to the pre hung doors already on the body frame.
Finally will need to fire up my nickel home plating kit
to do these parts and a few other small bits.
One of the last fiddly jobs I hope!
Hope to get the rad shell back from the platers at Longtown in
about a fortnight.
