Hi Charles,
Sorry but I've got to disagree.
Check the brightwells back catalogue for last year.
Someone entered basically a Ruby with a rod yates body thrown on. It was an unfinished car. So the last difficult 10% wasn't even done.
I beleive the car was estimated £10k to £12k. I think it finished at £12.5k
as a dealer I can quickly work out that a running but not road worthy Ruby can be bought for £4k I'm sure this non austin 7 lover would snatch your hand of for a grand for the body.
Leaving him in for £3k
Rod yates body with bonet etc £3k
I'm sure it will come onto the market with a box saloon rad and surround £100
All the rest of the parts can come from the Ruby, dials light etc. They don't have to work. Just be there.
So he is in for £6,100 let's call it £7.5k if we alow his durv, auction fees, drink problem for for not being able to live with himself etc.
Sold £12.5k
-£. 7.5k
In my book = £5,000 profit.
You might even see it in the next brightwells sale.
Do 4 a year, it's a living. For about 2 months work.
Don't know why I'm not doing it myself?
Tony.
