That's interesting, and could be significant. Is it truly the original logbook (ie issued 1936 or whatever) or is it an early continuation book?
I must admit as the instigator of the original thread which was probably the catalyst for the Facebook conversation I was stirring things for amusement - I too have always considered the APEs as Opals
