Another plus of having a semi Girling front axle is the extra location point - which I don't have.

I observed this on Bob Booth's personal chummy and if it was anybody else I would not mention it.
 To prevent front axle twist under hard braking he ran a small cable back to the radius rod as in Austin's pictures. Bob found a higher attachment point for the cable at the front axle, giving a leverage advantage. Where you ask, well this is where it gets imaginative.
The blanking plug on top of the stub axle was removed and a grease nipple inserted direct into the threaded king pin. A swaged loop  at the forward end  of the bracing cable was dropped over this grease nipple and presto!  This was not his racing car.  cheers  Russell
