Is there a dodge for this? The only way that I've discovered is if you use a recent 'real' digital camera or an iPhone 12 or above - both seem to cope automatically with turning the image the right way up. Even then, on the iPhone, you might need to rotate it first using the Photos app:
- Select the photo
- Tap Edit
- Tap Crop
- Tap the Rotate Left icon
- To rotate right, tap Rotate Left three times
- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the Control Center
- Tap the Portrait Orientation Lock button to make sure it's off
- Turn your iPhone sideways
The other way I use is to use a program like Photoshop and give the image a new layer - and then use the control to "flatten" the image and fuse the layers together. However, this might still not work - and I've had similar trouble with photographs sent to me for advertisements. As a thumbnail (which is what the images you see on Friends are), they cannot be altered, but when viewed at full resolution they are OK.
