To answer the questions above, I have a coupled brake 1930 chassis with a three speed box. And a Hardy-Spicer joint at the front. I believe the operating lever has been shifted to the off side slightly, perhaps. But I may be wrong on the latter as the operating arm on the shaft lines up directly with the radius arm ball on the front cross member. The bearing carrier which is located on the near side of the fore and aft member, has spacers moving it toward the near side. The whole arrangement seems rather odd, but then I know that Autocar 647 praised the EA Sports in their review but found the handbrake a bit flimsy.
