Prithvi, I suggest to get some clear photos of the cam and share them with Paul, he'll tell you if it's repairable.
I had a 'rough' cam reground by him a while ago and it came back like new.

So far I've managed to do the following:

Ordered a bunch of engine internal parts from David Cochrane of A7 Components

Bought one 19 inch scripted wheel on EBay for a bargain

Hugh Barnes is very kindly arranging a cylinder head

A decent used steering wheel from EBay

Made some enquiries for rebuilding the instruments and Lucas switch panel (Greg)

A Rist horn from David Wilkinson at Southern Sevens

A new Phoenix crankshaft from Phoenix Manufacturing

A set of new pistons, rings and valves from India 

A pair of correct used Lucas R47 headlamps

A correct starter crank handle

I have been looking for a floor starter button/switch and a seller with a spare has one. Just wanted to run this photo by you all. Is this the right kind of switch for my car? 

Please let me know.

Also, can someone suggest a place for rebuilding the steering wheel and redoing the celluloid coating.

From the photos on your post I can see that this switch is not the one you need, if you do a search on this forum for Floor Mounted Starter Switch, you can see the other type.

Hello everyone,

Paul Bonewell has found a camshaft which he has rebuilt for my car! 

I've decided against the Phoenix crank and have requested for a quote for the cranks made by 7 County Austins, instead.  

The steering wheel which I picked up from eBay is still in the UK. Can someone please suggest a steering wheel specialist in the UK who can rebuild the wheel with a new cellulose based coating. 

In the meantime, this handbrake lever cover popped up on eBay (pics attached). Is it the right type for my car? I'm on the hunt for a propshaft tunnel cover too.

Hi guys, 

I am judging a car event where there are 3 Austin 7 tourers but their years in the show are entered wrong. I need to inform the owners of the correct year of manf. Here are the chassis numbers:


#121572 (small door tourer, swb, small glove box)

# chassis plate missing/small door tourer, 2 seams vertical at the back like my AG but unlike my AG, the starter motor is in the engine bay like later cars) 

#170736 (large door tourer lwb,

Would be very grateful if any of you can let me know the correct years for these 3 cars.

121572 dates from October 1930

The AG will be a similar age to yours, sounds like it has a later engine fitted (all short-wheelbase cars had the starter in the cab).

170736 dates from March 1933.
