Hardly in the same league as the Gordon England Stadium but Hobbs Parker in Ashford have an Arrow Foursome for Auction this week that appears to have been off the road since 1973.
There are twenty photographs of it on their website

There is something not quite right about this car, I may be wrong but it appears to be either a special/recreation, or quite modified if it is indeed an Arrow. Is there anything known about its history?

Interestingly AMK (Middlesex) registrations were allocated in blocks between July 1933 and December 1934 - wasn't the Arrow Coachworks in Middlesex? The A7CA Chassis Register describes it as first registered 17th October 1933 - it's on the A7 Arrow Register.

It might well be an Arrow, but 'highly original' it certainly is not. Just the headlamps and seats would suggest to me any claims for it should be viewed with a healthy dose of scepticism, however well-intentioned.
What bothers me is that a specialist auction house should have a feel for this, and be advising the Owner "we are not convinced the car is highly original, please modify your description or provide some back-up evidence".
Is Jim Blacklock still running the Register? He would know the car I'm sure.

I sent Jim an EMail alerting him to the fact the car was up for sale but have not, as yet, had a response.

It looks to be quite authentic, Ian, although the description 'highly original' is certainly stretching the truth somewhat. Why the description should concentrate on new carpet and tonneau as though everything else is original smacks of straight-forward deceit.

Austioneers told me they were looking for £10k. At that point I lost interest...

Doing a proper repair on whatever that 'plating over' is covering up at the bottom of the rear won't be a fun job.
