For what might be some helpful information, see http://www.lathes.co.uk/myford-ml2-ml4/ - this contains the bulk of the information about these little lathes.

Interestingly my “new” ML4 has all the attributes of a very late example…… 3 1/2” centre, v pulleys, long bed but had a 7/8” spindle! Now substituted for the 1 1/8” MT2 spindle. Cheers Howard

I was about to post the same comment! It is indeed a very late example either from a batch made in 1939-1941 and would have been on this stand originally http://www.lathes.co.uk/myford-ml2-ml4/img4.jpg.
It might be that a small number was assembled in 1945 but, if so, these would probably have been on the Super-de-Lux stand. http://www.lathes.co.uk/myford-ml2-ml4/img5.jpg

My stand is a quite substantial home made job that came with my old lathe. You may also notice that the tray is from the short bed lathe not so subtly modified with a steel plate to take the long bed mountings . Cheers Howard

Body-off respray back to the correct blue. R47s finally arrived and fitted; new springs all round, brakes being worked on and screen at the platers (etc, etc).
