I am looking for a side draught inlet manifold to go with a basic vintage exhaust manifold. Has anyone got such a thing surplus to their needs, please?

What carb are you looking to fit to it?

1" SU is planned.

If looking to retain your existing exhaust set up, then you do also have the option fit a Ruby type combined manifold and an adapter such as this to convert to SU

There is a non-standard inlet at the bottom of the pile in your picture, and it looks as though it might be easily modified to suit my purpose. Are those parts possibly available?

It usually easier fitting the late exhaust manifold, than adapting parts to fit the early type.
Here are pictures of an adaptor we have done for around the last 10 year. We make them for 1 inch and 1 1/8 inch SU carbs. No disrespect, but I think an 1 1/4 su is to big for standard manifolds on standard engines. [attachment=17488] [attachment=17489] Probably the main reason why people want to keep the early manifold is because the later manifold stands out further for the exhaust pipe. Hard to show in the picture. But the is about 1/2 inch difference in fitting. Tony.[attachment=17490]
