Can it be confirmed that the hubs grease plugs are 3/8 diameter but 26 TPI Whitworth form. Where to get a tap for that odd size?
(26tpi would normally be 1/4 BSF.

Hi
I don't suppose they are BSPP or BSPT are they ? 1/8 BSPP is a shade over 3/8 diameter and has 28 TPI.

The holes the plugs are screwed into take a 1/8BSP grease nipple to enable you to (over?) grease the hub bearings

Yes 1/8 BSP X 28TPI (should have learned from the steering box Queries).
Fortunately I have taps that size so was able to clean up enough to fit the plug that was not going in.

For those with damaged threads and no tap a wooden plug will suffice. There is no need to rgualrly access. Packed bearings will suffice for tens of thousands of miles unless wading.
