So sad to be missing the Moreton in the Marsh Centenary celebrations for the simple reason that no dogs are allowed on the site. I was due to be one of the team helping running things.
Hopefully we'll have the usual great time at Beaulieu instead. I wonder how many Seven owners were affected by this

I think it would be more positive now if the thread just asked how many people are going to Beaulieu, or clustering in other places, this year. I'd certainly like to get to Beaulieu also as it's close enough and I do foresee some of the cars we don't see getting there that perhaps wont be at Moreton.

In that case start a new thread on the Austin Seven Centenery at Beaulieu.
This will save confusion and misinformation.
Its a different place and a different date !!!!

hi barry,
my gauge is the feedback from my customers.
it looks like alot of people didnt book the centenary for several different reasons.
the result is many of them intend to attend the 750 beaulieu rally instead. as they want to celibrate 100 years.
so hopefully after the rise in number there last year, we will see an even bigger turn out this year.
good to see the numbers rise at these events. hopefully it will spark new interest for the 750 beaulieu event for future years.

I plan - and hope - to do both. Van at Moreton, Special at Beaulieu.

A quiet reminder that Sunday 3rd July will see Sevens celebrating the centenary of the machine's competition career at Shelsley. Shelsley Walsh is in the West Midlands, that is in the middle of England and quite close to Wales.

It's 600 mile round trip for me in North Wales.
I certainly wish the Centenary all the best and hope the weather gods smile on them, it should be a fantastic rally

I do not understand this post and why some dog owners think it their god given right to bring their animals into other peoples spaces. Barry you might say that you have enough control over your dog the prevent it from soiling the grounds or lifting its leg over someone's pride and joy but unfortunately not all owners are that responsible or have well behaved dogs. I am in full support of the organiser's making a no dog rule and don't understand why you feel the need to air this on the forum, just leave your dog at home or with a family member.
PS I am a dog owner not a dog hater.

It is interesting. We have a dog, but I foresee future legislation on the horizon as many open areas of nature conservation importance have ground flora being radically changed as a result of 'the unseen' - overfertilising dog wee. Its a difficult thing to stop so whole swathes of land in honeypot areas - where dogs congregate in numbers - are affected. Perhaps taxation or just increasing bans.
