1/2 BSP on Austin 7?
#21
New Year and I've remembered! I think it was to do with heads and the ability to create an outlet or a threaded plug 'ole using one of the core plug locations... when thinking about lowered Speedex radiators.
Although I presume it could also be useful when finding the core plug location is a bit eroded, using a BSP brass bung?

Jon, I remember doing some sketches for you suggesting some copper pipe fittings having solder and BSP ends. It was for your Speedex. Four-speed gearboxes use a standard 1/2" BSPT plug as a filler plug.

Robert - indeed. All as clear as day again now. I'd "filed" it. Ahem.
I think it must have been lockdown overload that shut down some areas of the memory in response to such! (One of new years resolutions is to simplify life somewhat....:-)
