0.060" Pistons
#1
Has anyone a set of new +0.060" Pistons they wish to sell? Our cherished suppliers seem to be out of stock.
Enquiring for a friend whose build has stalled.
Thanks in anticipation.
Chris.

hi gene,

the slipper pistons have been doing our austin 7s proud for over 20 years now. carrying on dave flakes good work.

they are in all types of 7s, from box standard road cars to the best well known race cars.

not everyone understands the advantages.

i get alot of people thinking slipper pistons are only for race cars?
some people will only re-fit the same type of piston they took out?
most will ask for imperial sizes, were as the slipper pistons are metric. (piston rings are the same as nut and bolt threads there are less and less companies doing imperial). so by stocking pistons with metric rings, they are always available were ever we go.
some people will automatically machine there block to fit the next imperial size + 60 to find the pistons are not available at this time. my advice is to check with all suppliers for what sizes are in stock before you bore a block.
some people will only use the same supplier all there lives, so then struggle when something is out of stock.

i know all that may sound strange to some, but it takes allsorts.

im sure chris`s friend will have his own good reason for wanting only 4 ring imperial pistons.

all i can do is make the best product i can. (if you build it, they will come).

Very useful information for many. In my friend's case the block had already been newly bored to +0.060".
Personally I always go for slipper and you have always supplied me good product, Tony.
