RH Insurance changing ownership again

Has any forum member received notification of RH insurance changing ownership yet again. Today 4/8/20 I received a letter informing me that the ownership of RH insurance was transferring from Hiscox to A-plan insurance. Apart from all the bumph telling me that nothing had changed other than ownership some information held on file was to be transferred to A-plan insurance. They went on to say thar if I was not happy with this arrangement I would have to look for new a insurance company to insure my vehicle.
There is no mention of reimbursement of days unused.

I am not really worried about this but annoyed that my policy is only 4 days old having renewed it on the 1/8/20 and at the time of renewing nothing was mentioned about the transfer of ownership.

My loyalty with RH is beginning to get somewhat frayed.

I have had the letter too.

We shall need to see what, if anything, changes. Hopefully A-Plan will leave RH well alone to continue its excellent service.

I don't see what your problem is, John. Your policy was taken out with RH Insurance, and is still with RH Insurance. The letter is informing you that from 17th August ownership of RH Insurance is changing but that does not change your relationship with the company you are dealing with. Nevertheless, if you happened to have some grudge with the new owners, A Plan Insurance, then the letter gives you time to cancel your policy. 
The fact that you took out, or renewed, your insurance four days ago is just one of those things, someone will be one side of the line, someone else will be the other ...

I got my letter this morning too.
Seems OK to me.
I'm afraid the transfer of private data is just normal these days.
The test will be when we get our renewal quotes when our current policies expire.

I also received the letter this AM. No relevant changes that I can see RH is still RH, ERS is still the underwriters.
I have a renewal before 21st Aug. which this letter arriving has reminded me of; I shall renew as usual.

Specialist vehicle insurance will pass from Hiscox to A-Plan Insurance.

We are working hard to make sure that the transition is as smooth as possible, so on a day to day basis, you should see very little change, including to our name. RH insurance policies will continue to be insured with ERS (Syndicate 218 at Lloyd's) and serviced by ERS Syndicate Services Limited
(ERSSL). You will continue to be looked after by the same dedicated RH team, accessed via the same contact details, with no interruption to service.
What does this mean for your data?
All your RH specialist vehicle insurance policy data and records will continue to be held by the RH team at ERS in their systems. Where they hold sensitive personal data (such as health or information relating to criminal convictions and offences), this will transfer to A-Plan.
If you do not want us to transfer this information to A-Plan, please let us know within 10 days frorr the date of the letter 30th July 2020 by emailing us at rh@ers.com or calling 0333 043 3911.'ln sud circumstance you will need to arrange alternative insurance cover for your vehicle as RH would b unable to continue your insurance policy.
Unless we hear from you, all relevant data will be transferred and we will be inviting renewal of yoi policy in the normal way, and look forward to looking after your insurance needs in the future.

UCan I just clarify a point in my original post. I don’t have a problem but if I did there is no mention of a refund on days of insurance unused if I decided to cancel and move to a new insurer. My real gripe is that when I renewed just 4 days earlier there was no mention of the transfer of ownership. If there had been I may well have considered moving. (I think I may well have answered my own question about why I was not informed at the time of renewal.)

I've just received my letter. Last time RHS underwent a change of ownership I was not sent any renewal invitations and I was not alone. I didn't notice until the policy had expired for at least a month and had to go through the whole process of opening a new policy.  I hope this will not be repeated.

Insurance is all about the people, nothing more...if A Plan is leaving the current team in place and don’t make life difficult for them with pointless “strategic reviews” (cost cutting) and actually invest in the business, I don’t think we have anything to worry about...I’m still waiting for a reply to my online request for a quote, not that I’m in a rush, but perhaps that’s the reason for the delay.

If you read every word you will find that if you want to leave the present scheme you will get a pro-rata return of premium.
