Autosparks wiring diagram?
#11
Here is what Autosparks  website lists as their AC2 WIRING HARNESS:
Austin Seven Ruby Wiring Harness Set
Part NO: AN2c Year:1935 - 1938 Finish:Braided Cables with a Braided Outer Covering Chassis NO: APE-ACA & APD-ARQ
Third Brush Control. Dynamo and Starter on R/H Side. Built with Twin Filament Headlamps as standard

They state that they do NOT do a wiring diagram for this but that they follow British Standard Wiring Colours which they list on their website here:
https://www.autosparks.co.uk/bscc

I would imagine that using the diagram here:
http://www.da7c.co.uk/technical_torque_a...4%20A4.pdf

combined with the BSW colour codes from Autosparks you should be able to progess.

That Lucas RB108 box isn't an A7 part as posted previously. AFAIK it's made for a 2 brush dynamo, not the 3 brush style that the A7 had from the factory. But as long as it's the 6V version, it should still operate as the cutout that you need if you just use the D (dynamo) E (earth) and A (output to ammeter) don't connect the field terminal as the A7 system controls the field from the ignition switch or panel on the dash. You'll need to add a resistor in the field circuit to get the 'summer half charge' to work.

Perfect thanks for the help.
I think I’ll lay it all out at the weekend to try and work out whats missing.
Thanks again

The Lucas Control Box Model RB108 was apparently fitted to tractors, motor cycles and stationary engines - it looks no earlier than 1950's to me. You can find details of it on page 14 in the link below:

Note' the Essex wiring diagram shows a Positive Earth ???
My own ARQ Ruby is Negative earth, or was when I bought it 30 years ago, think A7's changed a couple of times during their production ???
