I'm with you Hugh, grieving the loss of this brave expression of individualism. As a long term hood and canopy maker I wish it had sailed into my shop so I could have restyled the shocking 'weather equipment'.
 As with most recreations, the current version of this Land Yacht   leaves out much of the original's detail that made it interesting.
Like the recreated D type Jags without the Fin, as I said in the previous thread " I couldn't personally stand the ridicule".

Interesting that it appears to be the same chap driving in both photographs, wearing the same sweater, just without the hat on in the advert. Same photo shoot?

I don't think that there is any doubt it's the same chap, Charles. I had imagined that he always dressed like that when he drove it, but in the photo taken on the river bank at Kew, I had assumed his hat had blown off....
