I saw it a little more recently in the same setting.  I did wonder about the lack of a bulkhead/ fire wall. They also claimed it was the work of a retired Spitfire pilot... well..?

NO, interesting how the truth never gets in the way of a good story, however fiction is not that far form fact, Rob McNair who built the car works on historic aircraft including Spitfires he also owns and fly's a Tiger Moth, I believe I am correct in saying that he was an apprentice at the time he built the car.
