Hi all,
Can any of you bargain hunters tell me the best prices you have seen the new replacement starter motors up for sale.
I think they are made by autolight ?
Thanks Tony.

I think they make them for 1928-32 and for 1933-38...

Well I'm surprised nobody has bought one.
If there is no interest in these starters, it may render my next suggestion useless.
I have a customer wanting to sell one of each. Neither have been used.
He asked if I new the current prices, and he would accept £50.00 less.
So a bargain if you are looking for one
That makes the reverse starter £190 down from £240.00
And the post 1932 £150 down from £200
Welcome to email if there is any interest. tony.7ca@aol.co.uk

No,it's a pre engaged starter. When you press the start button the integral solenoid of the starter moves the pinion forward to engage the flywheel ring gear,at the end of the pinion travel the contacts for the motor close and the motor spins, that why it's called pre engaged, the pinion engages before it is driven by the motor
No, it's pre engaged which means the pinion engages the flywheel gear before it is driven by the motor,it also has a sprag clutch so that it can't be driven by the engine once the engine has started.
