Hi John
To misquote Michael Cain “You’re not supposed to blow the doors off”. Cheers Howard

It's been eventful today.
I started off in a bewildered state planning to go into Galashiels to get a printer cartridge and get petrol on the way. half way to the petrol station I realised I didn't know what cartridge I needed, so had to return home for the information. I then set off again intending to go to the petrol station on the Melrose bypass at Tweedbank. However the Austin is used to going a different way over the old Lowood bridge and took me that way. On the hill up from the Tweed the petrol ran out. I knew it was low but enough to get the the intended petrol station if there had been no diversion. I put in the spare gallon I always carry and then went on and completed the mission. As I was driving I realised a brake was dragging - rear O/S, The hub was hot. I returned home using the hand brake as the rear brake didn't release. I have now freed the seized brake cam on the rear offside. It was absolutely solid. This keeps happening and I'm not sure why. I replaced the cams and bushes (Oilite) failrly recently and know they are good. After lubrication, heat and hammering all was freed up, lubricated and reassembled. I hope they stay free. I expect using the car all year round does tend to make these thing happen. I have various trips over the next 2 days so I hope it will perfom well. Dragging brakes limit velocity.
Jim
