What have you done today with your Austin Seven
Big Grin
Using an Apple MacBook Air with the M2 silicone chip and OS sequoia 15.1.1 the drawing of the nosecone is upside down, but when I click on it, it becomes the right way up and further clicks zoom in and out!!,  (saves turning the Mac upside down or standing on my head on the desk  Smile)

I can do the same with an iPad, it’s great for looking at detail, however, you have to take a photograph with the iPad “ the right way round” in order to ensure that the picture is the correct way up on the forum…but I can never remember which way it is!

Now that the ice has finally melted and temperatures are better for handling lumps of old metal, I have started sorting out the parts that are going into a new engine that will initially be fitted in the Pytchley saloon but which will probably end up in the hill-climb car.
First job is to get the new Hadley crank and rods white metalled, it is rather a shame that they will be hidden away out of view.   Having said that, it would be more of a shame if they ever decide to make a bid for freedom from the crankcase!
The crankcase is from 1934, fitted with one of Ruairidh's front bearing lip replacements.   The camshaft is believed to be by Jack French, and was one of Reg Nice's spares.
I have a very good block with cleaned up ports and Honda pistons.   Cylinder head will probably be the Ricardo one that is currently on the Pytchley engine.

Wow! Very pretty, as you say, it’s a shame to hide the crank and rods away!

Hi All

Thought I’d revive this thread Big Grin.  No posts for over three weeks.

It seems it wasn’t quite cold enough for Powys CC to throw salt over the roads last night and it rained all day yesterday so the roads should be free from salt.  So despite the cold (2 degrees) I thought I’d start and run my fleet.

The van took some starting but eventually ran well enough on the quick mile or so I ventured out in it. Without side screens it was ****** cold.  It is not set up properly yet so I wasn’t happy with how it ran really.  I took the RK out on a similar run.  The hand crank nearly took my hand off but after it ran its usual dogged self (slow and brake squeely).  The Special started on the button and ran like a dream so I ventured a little further. With no coat on the cold was too much and I turned back after a few miles.

Roll on the summer!

Cheers

Howard

Nice weather here today, about 15°C and sunny so I had a tootle round in the RP. I stopped off at our local winery in St Ambroix for a photo op. Say the name out loud...

Waiter: "What would you like to drink, sir?"
Reckless: "Bugger all please!"

Hi Poppy and I drove from Findon to Portsmouth on Monday afternoon and caught the ferry to St Malo. We arrived at St Malo Tuesday morning and drove to Treduder on the Finistere border near Lannion.
I am here to carryout maintenance to the house here.
Today is Sunday so we drove to the Port of Locquirec  ( 20 min drive) for a lovely meal and walk around the headland.
We then drove back to the house and carried out a service, clean and greased the nipples.
I am now enjoying a Ricard !

The original post had nothing to do with the Ricard! Big Grin
