Friends' Gallery Picture of the Month - February 2025
#1
Lots going on in this shot that Jeff Taylor found on the internet. The location has been identified as Redruth in Cornwall, and the street decorations probably celebrate the coronation of King George and Queen Mary in May 1937. The ARR Ruby in the foreground was registered in February 1937, and the Ford V8 Model 62 was introduced at the beginning of 1937.

What a superb photograph! I’ll save that for coffee time to try and identify them all…if I can!

Great picture, Mike.

No doubt Forum members will be better at identifying cars than they are at identifying Queens!

Best wishes, Cliff.

Lovely - and look at the shine on those cars !

Mike/Jeff I am sure that "Discover Redruth" would be interested in a copy of that photo if it were possible. See https://discoverredruth.co.uk/redruth-then-now/

What a great photo. Some lovely cars and a good selection of different hats!

I note the Chummy with a nickel radiator shell.

Indeed, silly me! I'll leave the post as written, but it was, of course, Queen Elizabeth  Undecided

Interesting, the Chummy with the nickel radiator surround. If it is Cornwall, then a good chance it's registration number was AF 8956.
Thanks to Jeff for finding this wonderful scene.

Lovely photo.

Judging by the throng of people in the foreground there was 'something going on'?    I am wondering whether the stately car at the front (I am not certain of the make) followed by the Wolseley(?) are dignitaries arriving?
