George Mooney
#1
]George Mooney died suddenly yesterday. A long time member, past committee member of the Dorset Austin Seven Club who was one of our most active members. He would always jump in and help out at short notice. Will be sadly missed.

Such very sad news. George was a delightful man. His devotion to Joy was plain for all to see, and it will be an awful loss for her. R.I.P.

Oh, that is such sad news. George was a lovely man and as Nick says, devoted to Joy. I caught up with them last year at Beaulieu. RIP George and Joy is very much in my thoughts..

That is shocking news. George and Joy are people I always looked out for at rallies. They always gave me such a warm welcome.

Not much good can come from losing your parents, but one bonus for me, was the regular communications with George.

My thoughts immediately turn to Joy. They were inseparable.

Very sad news, I worked with George when he was one of the team at DeVilbiss (the spray gun people) in Ringwood Road in Bournemouth, he even provided his Ruby as a wedding car for one of his colleagues, thankfully the bride and groom were quite small!

Very sad news. Always a delight to chat to George and he was very helpful when we were planning our American trip

Yes that is sad news — A man who always had time for others —  a mine of information, good sense and experience which he was always ready to share.
I hope Joy may get to see the many words of condolence that will be posted on this forum from those who remember them both, enthusiastically taking part in Eurotours and many other club events.

Wow, what a shock.

I was only thinking of him earlier. Such an intrepid, courageous Austin Sevener. Always so willing to give his time.

I remember chatting to him and Joy about his South American adventures, when I asked joy what she thought about it. With a twinkle in her eyes she said it was her idea and encouraged George to do it.

I too hope Joy gets to see all the comments on here.

A great loss to the Austin Seven World.
