Manifold Stud Sealing
#11
I use Loctite black silicon seal on both manifold and head studs and never had any leakage problems. Just smear a little o the stud threads before screwing them in .

Hi

Just to complete the story on this, I tried Permatex High Temperature Thread Sealer. A 6 ml tube is about £7 and is more than enough for the 7 studs. As this is an anerobic type compound, I took the precaution of fitting the manifold and tightening the nuts straight away so as to create narrow thread gaps and exclude air.

This has been completely successful

No doubt many things would work just as well, but it would seem that Wellseal is not suited.
