Hi
My name is Michael, I'm from Tiel (The Netherlands) and I'm new here on this forum.
I've just struck a deal on a Rosengart LR42N cabriolet (more about that in due time) but during my search for a nice and not too expensive pre war car with mechanicals I can understand to a certain level (the Rosengart is not my first classic but it is my first kinda vintage one), I've been wondering if and if so what Austin 7 parts will fit a Rosengart LR4 without of with little modification (i.e. cylinder head; intake and exhaust manifolds, double valve springs, remote gearchange, remote oil filter kit, Hardy Spicer prop shaft with UJ's etc) .
Yes I'm aware of the Imperial versus metric threads involved but that is not my issue; (new) Rosengart parts tend to be quite expensive in France so if I can keep the budget down by using Austin 7 parts in some areas.....well... think I've made my point.
I've already seen some posts here by Rosengart owners who obviously have been confronted by the same and similar matters and questions so is there anybody out there who has a list of 'interchangeable' Austin 7 parts both with or without the mods necessary to fit a Rosengart?
I've already queried one of the better known Austin 7 parts supplying specialists but he could not be conclusive in any way .....
Bye for now....
Michael
