Hi Jon,
I'm interested to know how you arrive at the 1930 date for the BU number. I ask only out of ignorance.
I have BU 7383, which was first registered (in Oldham according to Hugh Barnes) in December 1932.
Regards,
Colin

Colin - the Oldham series didn't get "used up" til Feb 37, so yours fits with the data, which records the first number issued in each new year. Things like London series (GU for instance) disappeared - 1000 registrations - in a month sometimes, [which makes it handy for pinning down registration dates].

Thanks for the clarification Jon and Parazine. I had a feeling it wasn't going to be straightforward.
Have a good day,
Colin
