The Store to the right of 'Myer' in the picture is the other great Melbourne Department Store 'Buckley and Nunn'.
Started in 1851 it rivalled 'Myer' until taken over and renamed by Sydney Department Store chain 'David Jones' in 1982.

Has anyone figured what under front axle? The side mount on the Seven would counter any air resistance gain from troublesome cycle guards.
The Pierce Arrow driver possibly hoping to save a few quid to pay the RAC tax on 38 hp! Although not typical, at least until the Depresiion rugged reliable relatively powerful American cars were very popular in Australasia, especially outside of large flat cities.

Well that shows that it isn't always hot and sunny in Australia, it was just like that when I visited Sydney.
