Something I've been pondering - my 1929ish Chummy body has this bracket on the passenger side of the transmission tunnel, but I can't work out what it's for beyond perhaps an early attempt at a cup holder... 
The body was rescued from a New Zealand scrapyard so potentially an export feature, but does anyone have any ideas?
