Thanks, Charles, wasn't aware you could keep the box and change column, excellent idea. Sure someone on this site could make use of my old but, in excellent condition flat Bluemel wheel.

Welding like that would be an mot fail ! Inappropriate welding on steering conponent good job it mot exempt or is it?
My problem I ask questions that other people don't like?
Like have you got that for an investment or for fun?

Just noticed I have this on the Nippy archive parts list:"One owner with 65 steering wheel and (longer) steering tube/box looking for a swap with later (shorter) Nippy unit for 1936 car – make contact!"
Now need to remember who it was... not that it helps you. Wasnt Willie McKenzie doing repro Ashby wheels? Austin 7 Repro...

What do you think about fabricated wishbones, radius rods, panhard rods, spaceframe chassis, all welded, are thes MOT fails?

Just used the mot manual for wording not saying
It's not ok I build formula 750 race cars for something To do ! And space frame and wishbone are all made By welding in jigs I have been welding for my working life And have been trained to do it . But on a weld overhanging Like that and a lot of stress on it I would myself not like it my car ! Sorry
My problem I ask questions that other people don't like?
