I am trying to put the pieces together for my Rev Counter drive on Slippery Anne and hope someone will be able to advise me about GE Brooklands Rev Counter Angle Drives, just like this one fitted to Mrs JoJo:
Inscribed on its body it has what may be a part number and aso the ratio:
S8N BEA
2-1
I have absolutely no idea which company made them originally or if they originated on the Brooklands or another car, bike or even aircraft. Any advice or pointers as to the units origin would be great.
On Slippery Anne the drive was taken directly from the Magneto drive, instead of the timing case as on the Brooklands engine, but, despite the different positioning I am fairly sure it was the same type of unit:
engine2.jpeg (Size: 46.02 KB / Downloads: 231)
red1152-016.jpeg (Size: 118.73 KB / Downloads: 229)
Of course, if you have one of these units sitting on a shelf looking for a home........!
All the best, Mark.
