Colin and Hazel Chapman competing in a 1948 trial in the very first Lotus. I have chosen this photo since Historic Lotus are trying to trace this car - unfortunately I don't hold out much hope, since the car appeared at various events using a variety of registration numbers! OX 9292 is almost certainly the original identity of the chummy on which the special was based, but who knows what identity it had when Colin sold it on?
