Hello
I would like to check my chassis for damage.
My main concern is alignment (is it bent)
Any advice would be welcome.
I wondered about placing the car on the floor (new flat finish) and constructing
lines to check wheels for true ?
Regards
Tim

That won't check your chassis - just the wheel alignment. In a perfect world, its a body off job - unless you had an Austin 7 jig, which I would doubt many people (if any ?) have.
However, If your wheels and the centres of your wheel front to back are in alignment (Note front and back axles may be a different width), and Toe in and Camber Ok, and the body sits about right, then that is about OK for a car of 80+ years old.

I think Bob's about right, you can check symmetry and key dimensions with a piece of string, and perhaps wriggle underneath with an inspection lamp looking for signs of trouble.
