The upper leaf on one of my rear springs is broken/long-gone.  I'm thinking it wont make much difference to the handling of the car, and its original and part of its history, so I was thinking I would just stick with that.

Good Move? Bad Move?

You also have the end "strap" section missing from the top of the chassis rail, just behind where the "U" bolt sits on the spring. It's common for this to fracture each side and then drop off. Ideally, this should be re-welded.

When I broke a main leaf of a rear spring I found it quite easy to take a leaf from a spare spring I had in stock and use that to cure things. I did have to reshape the curve using my press so that it matched the opposite one which had not broken.
