My Ruby is an early and so will not be exactly as yours Martin but I attach some pics which may be useful and may give you a clue to a way forward.

Whilst I move the originality, unfortunately Ivor I was not too enamoured with the numerous aluminium patches, pop rivets and copious amounts of body filler that appeared when stripping my Ruby and the extensive rewelding required....

Yes by all means, but there is no carpet on it at all, just the smaller door pocket,could you send me by PM your email address as I don't know how to attach photos here, so I will email them.
