Nippy front springs
#1
I have recently acquired a Nippy. It is fitted with a saloon front spring and looks dreadful! I have a couple of saloon front springs, that appear to be unused. What are the experts' views on having the saloon springs re-set?
And if re-setting is feasable, know who might undertake the job?

John, in my experience re-setting old springs is rarely satisfactory, if nothing else they will settle a couple of inches after fitting so you need to anticipate this in your measurements. New springs are currently available for a little more money and a good investment. The one thing you may want to check is whether you have a sports or touring axle beam; and if sports, is it genuine or a modified touring axle (as this can affect length). Have a chat with Ruairidh Dunford.

John,

We can supply you with with the correct spring, and a sports axle, if required.

If you have been fortunate enough to acquire a genuine Nippy then do it correctly with a new spring or complete axle from Ruairidh.

Proper new spring from Ruairidh is the only way forward.
Cheaper in the long run.
