Stuart, When the WC numbers run you could say the have gone down the pan but please don’t clap when the VD registrations arrive.

VD was used in period. Lanark County Council.

VD was fully issued at the time - it ran from 1930 to 1938 - so is not available for age-related status. DS ran from 1903 to 1962, at which time they had reached around 5,500, so unissued subsequent numbers could be allocated to the age-related scheme. BF and WC were never issued in period so the full sequence is/was available.
