A friend of mine told me this was for an Austin seven ruby. I think he may be wrong. 

Maybe a Morris?

Stephen,

To be slightly more specific - 1935 to 1938 Morris 8 Pre-Series, Series I & Series II - fits saloons, two-seaters and four seat tourers. However it will not fit the 1939 to 1948 Morris 8 Series E models. I've owned my 1936 Morris 8 Series I four seat tourer for 50 years.
