Good morning. Could anyone tell me when the vacuum wiper was first fitted to the Austin 7 and what type was it?
Was the Trico (semi circular) vac wiper ever fitted as standard?

It appears from the handbooks that the cylindrical vacuum wiper was fitted from1926 until 1934, and in my experience it was only of Lucas manufacture on cars I have examined. Among my motors I also have cylindrical Trico design. Back in the 1960s I can remember seeing A7s with the Trico semi-circular design as used on Y type Fords, but I believe this was only as a replacement.
