Exhaust pipe routing on a box saloon
#21
I have just had a look at my 1935 Parts List, which deals with both High Chassis and Low Chassis vehicles. It appears that the High Chassis tailpipe was a completely different shape to that of the Low Chassis and, looking at it, it may very well have passed between the rear wing and the tank. However, the modern exhaust systems appear to be all like the Low Chassis one in the list and this may be why the tailpipe now passes under the tank.

What do period photographs of new or unadulterated cars tell you, there are enough of them out there.

I tried to find period photographs showing the routing of the exhaust but didn't have any luck Ian...by the way the string holing up the tailpipe has now gone , I've made a nice steel bracket...
