An appealing touch, somehow.
The registration has no significance that I know - the Artist, from the slightly indistinct signature, was a Mr Smith. All the additions are culled from those other charming A7 catalogues of the period.

Many years back a friend asked me to copy this first illustration in watercolour.  I was unaware of the diferent versions made later.  If so I'd probably be still painting it!   Cheers,  Bill in Oz
