The stud into the exhaust manifold on my chummy only has about 50% of the manifold casting left to seat the inlet manifold.
Could someone suggest a suitable 'filler' to fill the gap. The stud is well attached.
One of the modern 'metal in a tube ' concoctions? Will it stand heat?
Thanks

I'm not at all sure that the top stud that attached the inlet manifold to the exhaust does a lot mechanically.
It must have a hot-spot effect which is probably a bad idea with modern fuels.

If you don't have a washer between the cast iron exhaust manifold and the Al inlet manifold, you run the risk of pinching the manifold and upsetting the gasket seal between the block / inlet manifold.
