Hello all, Having just read the thread on timing gears and learnt from it that Dave Dye makes such gears It got me thinking does anyone make new gears for the steering box the large gear ( steeringbox worm wheel) which meshes with the worm on the column. Mine is so worn the gear teeth are as sharp as razor blades and I would love a new one.

The earlier aluminium steering box has a gear which can be rotated to 2 extra unworn segments, yours may have unused teeth.

Thanks squeak, I thought they were all made like that. Unfortunately both of the steering boxes I posses all three segments of the worm wheels are worn to th degree that the teeth have razor sharp edges.

I would have thought that there is still a good stock of usable boxes out there John, People like Tony Bett's probably have dozens on the shelf.
