I think this is actually another 3/16 BSF thread (like the fan blade securing screws) - they are very similar to 2BA.

3/16 BSF = 0.1875" diameter and 32 threads/inch

      2BA = 0.1850" diameter and 31.36 threads/inch

You are right Ruairidh - they are very close - a new 2BA screw does fit - not sure what mine are now - they are somewhat worn, chromed but crossheaded, so not original?

I agree, cross-head screws look terrible on a Seven - but they came with the car and I have nothing else chromed of that size (3/16" BSF or even 2BA!).
