Propshaft securing nut washer type
#1
Just completing a couple of jobs before the Austin Seven special 1927 is put up for sale.
In the process of replacing the fabric joint I noticed the three securing nuts had different washers, one tab, one tooth washer and the third nut had no washer.
Can anyone inform on which is the correct type if any to use?
Many thanks.

Loctite is another solution but doesn't lend itself to on site application. I've changed a few fabric couplings in car parks, with the car parked on a slight incline remove the cover over the coupling and remove the 6 nuts releasing the handbrake slightly to allow the shaft to turn. On one occasion it was done from the passenger seat in the rain , with Sue in the pub, all was going well till a chummy parked in front which got told to move or be buffered up to.

I only use Loctite.
Quickly changed a coupling in less than half an hour on the rally field at Beaulieu on the Sunday morning.
