In the midst of the cold, the snow, the mist - and the floods - let's look forward to the summer:

So before the Napier Railton was used for GQ parachute testing, there was some parasol testing with a Chummy!

It appears to be an AC, from the flat scuttle, lack of door handles and sloping rear door edge, so will have 6" brakes. Perhaps a parasol was being used in an attempt to slow down, as there are no friendly looking hedges pictured. This seems like a good idea, next time you are navigating to me I suggest you bring one along.

I used to work for GQ Parachutes, & my boss had a pic of the Napier Railton on his office wall, he was also a 'live test dummy', !!!

The rear seat passenger may be a bouncer, waving a spade useful for extracting the machine either from hedges or from ditches. The Austin Sevenists marshalling this weekend on the Clee Hills will not need many cakes or biscuits to distribute to brave competitors waiting to try and get to the foot of Coats, and then try to ascend the section. A single Seven in class 2, and class 2 is being sent elsewhere. So have a good day, Team Atkinson, enjoy your own cakes. It will become evident on Sunday what Mark Gregg's 850cc engined Seven is, a very modified product of Longbridge with an engine from Tamworth perhaps?
